The statewide judicial nominating commission for judges of compensation claims met in Orlando on November 1, 2016. The commission unanimously recommended the reappointment of the following Judges of Compensation Claims: Wilbur Anderson (DAY), Diane Beck (SAR), Renee Hill (GNS), Margret Kerr (MIA), Daniel Lewis (FTL), Mark Massey (TPA), Stephen Rosen (SPT) and Thomas Sculco (ORL).

Four candidates were interviewed for the pending vacancy in Lakeland district. Upon the appointment of a judge to replace Wil J. Condry, Judge Sojourner (LKL) will transfer to the Orlando district office. Judge Condry's replacement will be assigned to Lakeland.

The candidates being submitted to Governor Scott for consideration in Lakeland are:

Lawrence Anzalone
Rob Arthur
Juliana Curtis

The commission also interviewed six applicants for West Palm Beach, a position created by the retirement of Mary D'Ambrosio. The three candidates nominated for this position are:

Jeffrey Jacobs
Carol Stephenson
Ken Schwartz

Interviews for the Miami vacancy created by the departure of Charles Hill were postponed. The application process will be reopened and the Commission will soon announce a hearing date for interviews, likely in late February 2017. The commission will seek applications for two vacancies in the Miami district office.

Judge Gerardo Castiello (MIA) was not nominated for reappointment by the Commission.
