The statewide
judicial nominating commission for judges of compensation claims met in Orlando
on November 1, 2016. The commission unanimously recommended the reappointment
of the following Judges of Compensation Claims: Wilbur Anderson (DAY), Diane
Beck (SAR), Renee Hill (GNS), Margret Kerr (MIA), Daniel Lewis (FTL), Mark
Massey (TPA), Stephen Rosen (SPT) and Thomas Sculco (ORL).
Four candidates
were interviewed for the pending vacancy in Lakeland district. Upon the
appointment of a judge to replace Wil J. Condry, Judge Sojourner (LKL) will
transfer to the Orlando district office. Judge Condry's replacement will be
assigned to Lakeland.

being submitted to Governor Scott for consideration in Lakeland are:

The commission
also interviewed six applicants for West Palm Beach, a position created by the
retirement of Mary D'Ambrosio. The three candidates nominated for this position
are:

Carol Stephenson
Ken Schwartz
Interviews for
the Miami vacancy created by the departure of Charles Hill were postponed. The
application process will be reopened and the Commission will soon announce a
hearing date for interviews, likely in late February 2017. The commission will
seek applications for two vacancies in the Miami district office.
Judge Gerardo
Castiello (MIA) was not nominated for reappointment by the Commission.
